RDZ Productions, LLC Teams Up With Verdi Productions and Manga Entertainment Team up with

RDZ Productions, LLC announced today that it has teamed up with Verdi Productions and Manga Entertainment on the documentary, Man in Red Bandana.

The film is written and directed by Matthew J. Weiss with Chad A. Verdi and Joshua Sason signed on as producers. Gwyneth Paltrow is set to narrate, with Michelle Verdi exec-producing and Lyle Lovett performing an original song.

Man in Red Bandana tells the incredible story of Welles Crowther, a 24-year old civilian who gave his life saving others in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.  His heroics included carrying a woman on his shoulder down 17 flights of stairs.  His bravery and courage only came to light eight months later due to an ordinary object ...  a red bandana.  Through interviews, archive footage, re-creations and animation, the film depicts Welles' story in an engaging and educational manner.  The ending depicts the diverse ways that Welles is honored throughout the United States leading to the revelation of a secret about Welles that can only be described as beautifully inspirational.

Verdi stated, "This is a story that must be told and is for the world to see. My wife Michelle and I currently have four other projects on the books for 2017 but this is now first in line. It's way too important of a story to sit any longer. Verdi added, “We plan to pitch the story while in Toronto this weekend attending the Canadian premier of our passion project, Bleed for This. We expect a release date in early 2017."

Joshua Sason stated, "As a lifelong New Yorker, there is no single day of my life that brings back more emotion and vivid memories than September 11, 2001. Amidst the chaos, dread and sadness, there existed saint-like beings that put others before themselves. Welles' story and how it has achieved folklore-like status throughout the United States is one of hope and selflessness that instills faith in the human spirit. I'm truly proud to be a part of this incredible project and to help deliver this inspirational story to viewers."

Matthew J. Weiss said, "One of the greatest honors of my life is telling Welles' inspirational story.  He was such an extraordinary individual who has touched so many throughout the United States.  The film is unique because, despite being a tearjerker, the ending is uplifting.  You learn of the widespread and diverse legacy that Welles created, all of which sets up the revelation of a secret about Welles that can only be described as perfect.  Viewers will be glad that they took this amazing and cathartic journey."

Verdi and Sason will donate all net profits to Welles Remy Crowther Trust http://www.crowthertrust.org/

And Our Film's Narrator Is ...

Major announcement! Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the narrator of "Man In Red Bandana", the first time that she has ever narrated a documentary! She read the script and, like many of you, was touched, gripped and inspired by Welles' story.

She was extremely gracious and generous, and did an awesome job! Her read provides balance and softness to a difficult topic, and our whole team is very appreciative of her participation.

Limited theatrical release expected September, 2016. Details to follow.

NY Times Reporter Interviewed For Film

ny-times-welles

A big thanks to NY Times journalist Eric Lipton who sat for an interview today for “Man In Red Bandana”. Eric was one of five journalists who wrote the May 26, 2002 article entitled “Fighting to Live as the Towers Died”. Eric was responsible for collecting data and conducting interviews regarding the 78th Floor of the South Tower. His research allowed Alison Crowther to determine what her son did during the last hour of his life, his finest hour.
